Tony Humphrey is pictured with his "Spinneer Shark", caught on the West end of Crystal Beach, and his fishing partner, Terry Mullen, both from Orange. They fish the beach from Sea Rim to San Luis Pass regularly, specifically for sharks. He states the "Spinner Sharks", which is a close cousin to the Blacktip, was one of the biggest they have cought this year. It was approximatly 7 ft. long and between 200-210 lbs.

At sunrise this morning the surf fishermen found the Gulf calm, very clear and trout just beyond the second .sand bar. Luke Motley III and his son Luke IV from Center Texas took advantage of these ideal conditions and caught these spec's
April 1, 2002 -Our son-In-Law Rick Cortino from Rosenberg, TX Caught a 27 pound redfish in the surf at the end of Cove Drive, Crystal Beach on squid. Looks like the redfish are in the surf just waiting to be caught
